Jazz music (Jazz) is a music genre that developed from a mix of African and American music, with its origin from New Orleans, United States, in the late 19th century. Prior to Jazz, were blue notes and gospel music; depending on the mood and/or personal experiences, the African American communities in the United States incorporated music from their African roots, improvised and developed Jazz. From its early development until the present, Jazz drew on classical/folk music, resulting in many distinctive and increasingly complex styles of Jazz music. Brass and woodwind instruments and drums are particularly associated with Jazz.
